Sometimes Miracles Take Time
Forty one years… that’s how long it took me to see “The Falls” all lit up… Seeing this miracle definitely took time, and it was SO worth it. Falls Park is truly an amazing place to see in the winter. The lights they put out and shine on the flowing waterfall are beautiful. I’m glad I finally got to take my family to see it!
Moses had to wait as well, and so did all of Israel. The story starts in Numbers 13, with twelve spies sent into the land of Canaan. They scouted for forty days, and as the song about their report back to Moses goes… “ten were bad and two were good.” Because of the unfaithfulness of the ten, an entire generation of Israelites would spend 40 years roaming the desert before they would all die and the next generation would inherit the promised land.
“You will bear the consequences of your iniquities forty years based on the number of the forty days that you scouted the land, a year for each day. You will know MY displeasure.”
But even while they were waiting, the LORD was with them.
“I led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes and the sandals on your feet did not wear out.”
And when it was all over, he gave us direction.
“For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your GOD, to walk in HIS ways, and to keep HIS commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and multiply, and the LORD your GOD may bless you in the land you are entering to possess.”
It was worth the wait to see The Falls. It will be even more worth the wait to see Heaven. I’m so glad to have that opportunity and will remember that GOD is with me now, and has given me directions to get to Heaven. Have a blessed day, and enjoy some photos.
