It's a Small Town Saturday Night...
Okay, so it was an actual Friday night, but it was a night that the Fort Osage community will always remember (well at least I will). August 24, 2018, Fort Osage's brand new stadium hosted its' first home football game. I was lucky enough to be able to be there and capture some images from that amazing night.
The opponent was Raytown South. They were a very quick team, but we were tough. In this instance tough would win. We beat Raytown South 35-6. The game was filled with big hits laid on them by our defense, Turnovers created by pressure on their quarterback, and a quick strike offense that moved down the field with surgical precision.
The varsity team for Fort Osage didn't even play the second half (except for the defense that played one series). The atmosphere was amazing. The band sounded great. The Indianettes performed flawlessly. The cheerleaders had the crowd involved. And the fans... the student section was rocking the black-out theme.
The whole evening reminded me of they way GOD wants us to be. Full of cheer and encouraging one in other.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Corinthians 14:26
What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
We are called as Christians to build each other up. We are called to be encouraging. We are called to come together. Just like the Fort Osage football team did on Friday night. And surely we can win the prize, just as they won the game.
