Welcome to my site. I take photos, and learn life lessons. I hope you are inspired by what you find.

Ezra 7:10

“Now Ezra had determined in his heart to study the law of the LORD, obey it, and teach its statutes and ordinances in Israel.”

God Bless These Hands...

God Bless These Hands...

God bless these hands that are spotted with a foreign blood

These feet that stand ‘til the battle’s won

This dagger and shield that are marred with scars wielded in your name

Song:  Prayer for a Warrior by Kerrie Roberts

We are lucky to have the National World War One Memorial here in Kansas City.  It is and amazing sight to see.  It is near a park that has some amazing sights as well.  Penn Valley Park is the name if you ever want to go there.  I made a couple trips to this area in August and captured some amazing images.

As I was taking in the sights I remembered that my wife's great grandfather had a stone placed at the memorial.  I spent some time looking up where it was and finding it as well.  It was sobering to see all the bricks placed for those that took up the banner and fought for others.  Sometimes I wish I had the courage to do that.  September 11th happened at the point in my life when I could have stepped back from my comfortable life and fought for others that couldn't fight for themselves.  I sometimes wish that I had taken that opportunity.

But I didn't.  So now I have to go forward in my life and strive to find other ways to fight for others.  I can do it in my classroom.  I can do it in my church.  I can do it in my community.  The Devil is all around us, and GOD wants us to fight.

Ephesians 6:10-17

Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil.  For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.  This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.

Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist,

righteousness like armor on your chest,

and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.

In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation,

and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word.

Help me, GOD, to prepare for battle and to face the Devil wherever he is found.  Just like those who did during World War I.
