So I Turned My Eyes To Heaven...
From June 1st through June 3rd, my church participated in "Forty Hours of Prayer." We had the building open from Friday night at 6pm until Sunday morning at 10am and had members present praying. We prayed for members. We prayed for church leadership. We prayed for our community and nation. We prayed prayers of healing. We prayed prayers of thanksgiving. We prayed prayers of safety. It is such an amazing experience for all those who chose to participate.
One of my main jobs during this activity is night security. I am at the building the entire time letting people in and out and making sure things run smoothly. Needless to say, forty hours straight of being mostly awake (I did get a few 20 minute naps) is a lot of time.
To pass the time this year, I brought my camera. I practiced many different types of photography. In the order of the photos below, I started with some pictures of the decorations in our church. I also spent quite a bit of time trying to capture some good images of the people as they prayed. A storm rolled through so I spent some time practicing lightning photography. Finally, I practiced some long exposure "ghost" photography. Here's some of my favorites that I captured during the forty hours.
